Dear ,

The last time this newsletter circulated, we shared exciting news about our new Leadership Forum offering, a FranklinCovey-based forum designed to help leaders further develop their ability to inspire trust and build credibility, define a clear and compelling purpose, create and align systems, and unleash the talents and energy of a winning team.

The inaugural Leadership Forum was held earlier this month in St. Cloud, and it was a great success!  Given high demand for this forum, we have added a third Leadership Forum cohort to our 2012 Forum Calendar.  The three cohorts are scheduled for March 19-21, July 24-26, and November 27-29 in 2012.  Space is limited.  Reserve your spot now!

For a summary overview of the Leadership Forum, click here.  You can request a detailed information packet here.  For questions or to register, call Venita Wilkes at 320.251.3215.

Best regards,
The Anderson Center Team

How the Best Leaders Build Trust
by Stephen M. R. Covey

I contend that the ability to establish, grow, extend, and (where needed) restore trust among stakeholders is the critical competency of leadership needed today. It is needed more than any other competency. Engendering trust is, in fact, a competency that can be learned, applied, and understood. It is something that you can get good at, something you can measure and improve, something for which you can "move the needle." You cannot be an effective leader without trust. As Warren Bennis put it, "Leadership without mutual trust is a contradiction in terms."

How do the best leaders build trust?
The first job of any leader is to inspire trust. Trust is confidence born of two dimensions: character and competence. Character includes your integrity, motive, and intent with people. Competence includes your capabilities, skills, results, and track record. Both dimensions are vital.  Read more here.

Executive Forum
The Executive Forum is ideally suited for Chief Executive Officers, CXOs, presidents, senior VPs, and other members of organizational leadership teams.  It is designed to increase the effectiveness of business leaders. Beginning in January, the program consists of a 12-month education process that will change the way you think. It is fast-paced, conc
entrated and highly interactive.

Within the twelve months there are three one-week educational sessions. Each one-week session is a full-time commitment and will concentrate on specific business topics related to the survival, growth and expansion stages of business.  Click here to learn more about the Executive Forum.
